Why Natural Foresight® Certification?
Natural Foresight® is a universal philosophy based on nature’s regenerative dynamics. This offers a stark contrast to rigid, linear approaches to futures planning that fail when dealing with 21st century complexity. While many foresight offerings focus solely on the latest fads and technological trends, Natural Foresight was born from the recognition that the future is ultimately about people, values, and the deep-seeded narratives.
With roots in 20th century military intelligence, foresight initially emphasized trend scouting, risk management, and prediction as its predominant features. The practice was embraced as a means to “future-proof” our outcomes, avoid surprises to the system, and “win the future” before our competitors. In organizations, competitive foresight intelligence represented the modern emphasis on simplification, linearization, and mechanization.
However, the true essence of foresight is embedded into nature’s inherent processes across all life. Evident in both micro and macro systems, nature anticipates the future. Through this critical lens we address why futures thinking must transcend modernity’s mechanistic framing toward viewing foresight as a biological, psychological, and sacred dynamic of all living things.
