Why Natural Foresight® Certification?

Natural Foresight® is not just another set of rigid, linear steps that fail when dealing with 21st-century complexity; it is a universal philosophy based on nature’s regenerative dynamics. While many foresight offerings focus exclusively on dazzling technology trends, Natural Foresight was born from the recognition that the future is ultimately about people, values, and the deep-seeded narratives that sustain our current systems. 

World War II roots emphasized trend scouting, risk management, and prediction as its predominant features. At that time, foresight was seen as a means to “future-proof” our outcomes, avoid surprises to the system, and “win the future” before our competitors. In organizations, competitive foresight intelligence represented the modern emphasis on simplification, linearization, and mechanization.

But, the essence of foresight is embedded into nature’s inherent processes across all life i.e., anticipation. Evident in both micro and macro systems, nature anticipates the future. Futures thinking is a practical mindset for foresight work, which, as we explore in this course, has been sequestered to organizational contexts. Through this critical lens we address why futures thinking’s theoretical applications must transcend modernity’s mechanistic framing toward viewing foresight as a biological, psychological, and sacred dynamic of all living things.
