Molly Kerby

About Me
In August 2025, Dr. Molly Kerby retired from a distinguished 40-year career at Western Kentucky University (WKU). As Assistant Provost for Institutional Effectiveness, she spearheaded initiatives that fostered continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation across academic units. In her administrative role, she led the development and implementation of assessment strategies, quality enhancement programs, faculty development initiatives, and educational technologies that aligned with the university’s mission and strategic goals.
With over a decade in academic administration and more than 25 years of teaching experience, Dr. Kerby cultivated deep expertise in organizational sustainability, public problem-solving, systems thinking, and strategic visioning. Her career was defined by a steadfast commitment to advancing higher education and supporting its diverse community of learners and educators.
Now embracing her “second act,” Dr. Kerby is channeling her passion and purpose into new ventures as an Ikigai coach (guiding others to discover meaning and purpose in life), health and wellness coach (specializing in meditation, yoga, sound healing, nutrition, and exercise), podcaster, and musician. She firmly believes that transitions, like retirement, are not the end of the road, but the beginning of becoming who you were always meant to be—the future you.
COURSE
Future Me: 30 Days to Reflect, Refine, and Reinvent Your Path with Foresight
Explore who you are, where you're going, and how to shape the life you want.
Overview
This 30-day challenge spread across six weeks uses futures-empowered daily prompts to help you shape your aspirational self and build effective habits that consider impacts to your future.
The prompts include a variety of reflective questions, activations, and goal setting. Not only will you build a robust plan for yourself, but you will also gain an understanding of the field of Strategic Foresight, a practical way to create functional views of alternative futures and possibilities.
Your Host will add additional context to the prompts with information from the Natural Foresight® Framework, an approach to Strategic Foresight that leverages the complex environment we are in to unlock a futurist mindset.
This type of experience is most effective when it is conducted collectively. To this end, you will engage with not only your Host but like-minded peers (Pod) to stretch the boundaries of what we believe is possible through a dedicated discussion group and meet ups.
The lessons follow the Natural Foresight® Framework:
- Discover: Recognize personal biases and assumptions that may limit your perspective on future opportunities.
- Explore: Look outside-in to radar and identify trends and emerging issues that will impact us.
- Map: Develop scenarios, or stories, that explore probable, provocative, and preferred futures.
- Create: Integrate foresight into your decision-making processes and actions to create a more future-proof and resilient approach to life.
